This is a white crackle glaze Raku pot made using Ashraf Hanna clay. Raku is a traditional Japanese style of pottery whereby the pot is fired to bisque temperatures in an electric kiln and then a secondary firing takes place in a gas kiln. When the pot reaches temperature, it is removed from the kiln and the placed in a sawdust bin where the smoke from the burning sawdust permeates through the crackle in the glaze.
